Partnering with Institution Mixte in Haiti

Partnering with Institution Mixte in Haiti

Paul Harrigan is a native of Haiti.  He started Institution Mixte in 1980, a school that educates about 220 kids everyday.  One morning, he was arriving to the school and saw a father buying a small sleeve of crackers for his son - that would be the child's only food for the entire day. Motivated by what he saw, Paul decided to look into providing meals for the kids at Institution Mixte.  He found that providing meals for 220 kids everyday was a lot of work and expensive...until he discovered Outside the Bowl.

Story from the Streets of Haiti

Story from the Streets of Haiti

Our Board Chair, Chris Brown, was in Haiti just 3 weeks ago.  While he was there, he visited with several of our ministry partners (who distribute the food we cook and deliver to them). Each ministry leader had a story to share - a story of God showing up and providing in the most dire of times.  The video below was shown at our Annual Fundraising Banquet & Auction on October 9th, but we wanted to share it with everyone.

"Fed Up": Hunger Action Month

On September 4th Outside the Bowl took a team of 8 people to Port au Prince, Haiti.  During our quick 5 day trip, the team visited the OTB kitchen and spent valuable time interacting with our ministry partners and the people they serve.  One of our team members, Kim Bryant, shares her experience and the impact it had on her below.
