Women around the world play an important role in OTB Super Kitchens.

From kitchen managers to head chefs, bakers and ministry partner leads, these women are making sure that thousands of children are receiving hot, healthy meals every single day. Part of Outside the Bowl's impact is on communities and research shows that one of the best ways to transform communities is to employ and empower women.

As 2019 wraps up, we want to introduce you to a few of the women who are making a difference with OTB!

Thembi Sontashe grew up in the townships of South Africa. With hard work and diligence, she graduated high school but had little hope for her future. That was until she met Mr. Mark Maingard, one of OTB South Africa's country directors. Mark saw great potential in Thembi (don’t miss the video below).

Thembi started as a cleaner and today is the head baker! As the bakery equipment was installed, Thembi shared that she was most excited about OTB being able to provide more jobs for people in her community. She is thankful to OTB for allowing her the opportunity to develop a skill and help others in need!

Thembi's story is just one example of how Outside the Bowl is changing
communities through economic development and job creation. OTB needs your support to expand projects in 2020 so that more women like Thembi can find meaningful work and change the future of many in their communities.

Would you consider partnering with Thembi and OTB as a KITCHEN BUILDER in 2020? KITCHEN BUILDERS are Outside the Bowl's monthly donors who give at any level. Click the link below to learn more!
